Who We Are

• Founded in 2021, Spirit, Inc. is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and equipping underserved students and youth throughout Houston, Harris County, and Fort Bend County.

• Our work connects essential hygiene support with sports, physical activity, wellness, and opportunities to participate and belong. We recognize that lacking basic personal-care essentials or access to recreational resources can create barriers to a young person's confidence and participation.

• Since launching, Spirit, Inc. has distributed more than 4,753 hygiene kits across Greater Houston, providing students with essential items that help them feel prepared, confident, and ready to participate in school and their communities.

• We believe meeting basic needs and creating opportunities for movement and play go hand in hand. Through hygiene support, sports and recreation resources, wellness initiatives, and community partnerships, we help young people strengthen confidence, teamwork, leadership, and a sense of belonging.

• What began with donated hygiene kits has grown into a broader student wellness effort connecting schools, families, universities, donors, and community partners around one shared purpose:

Ready to Thrive Initiative™ is Spirit, Inc.'s comprehensive student wellness initiative, bringing together hygiene, health, sports, and physical activity to support Title I and other high-need schools. Offered twice each school year, Ready to Thrive™ connects students with essential resources, wellness education, and community partnerships that help remove barriers to participation in the classroom and on the field.

Pads & Power™
Provides menstrual hygiene kits and menstrual health education to help girls manage their periods with dignity, confidence, and fewer barriers to school attendance and participation.

SWAG Power Pack™
Provides essential personal hygiene kits for boys to support health, confidence, school readiness, and overall well-being.

Power. Play. Period.™
Helps girls stay active and participate confidently in sports and physical activity by addressing menstrual hygiene and period-related barriers to participation.

Guys on the Move™
Encourages boys to stay active through sports, movement, wellness education, and healthy habits that support confidence and overall well-being.

Every kit, program, and initiative helps remove barriers so students can participate, feel confident, and thrive—regardless of their circumstances.
