Our Mission

In Greater Houston, countless students are missing school, not because they’re sick or unmotivated, but because they don’t have access to basics like soap, deodorant, clean clothes, or period products.

There are no public programs to help. SNAP and WIC don’t cover hygiene items, and unlike food or medicine, these essentials are often taxed. For families already struggling, even toothpaste can be a luxury. Spirit Inc., is helping to end hygiene poverty so every child can show up and succeed.

Our History

Spirit, Inc. began as a small grass roots initiative, providing backpacks, books, and essential school supplies to students across the Greater Houston Metroplex. As the needs of the students grew - particularly during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic - educators, parents, and school nurses began requesting additional items such as hygiene packets (including menstrual hygiene kits, deodorant, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc.) and clothing.

In late 2021, Spirit, Inc., became a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization (EIN 87-1735276) enabling us to expand our services and impact. Since then, we have made a significant difference - delivering more than 2550 backpacks, hygiene kits, and school supplies to students in need between 2023 and 2024.
